The Centre for Customs and Excise Studies has conducted a Time Release Study at the Port of Honiara in the Solomon Islands under the auspices of the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The Study is designed to measure the average time it takes for sea cargo to be released after it arrives in Honiara. Data from the study will help identify bottlenecks and reduce clearance times and so help trade facilitation efforts in the Island to match those of other leading Pacific Island countries, and at the same time meet international standards.
