The support being provided by The Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES) to the University of Customs and Finance (UCF) in Dnipro, Ukraine continued this month with the delivery of a five-day course to familiarise UCF’s lecturers with course materials on EU Customs Law.
The UCF Faculty was also provided with access to a specialised web-based tool to navigate this complex suite of EU legislation. All participants and instructors were presented with Certificates of Recognition for their significant contribution to this important Higher Education Support Project. Certificates for the UCF Faculty were jointly signed by H.E. Mr. Bruce Edwards (Australian Ambassador to Ukraine) and Professor David Widdowson AM (CCES CEO); and those for CCES Faculty were jointly signed by H. E. Mr. Vasyl Myroshnychenko (Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia and New Zealand) and Professor Widdowson.
“We are keen to support UCF in its efforts to build the capacity of Ukraine Customs to develop customs policies and procedures that will facilitate its entry into the EU,” Professor Widdowson said. “In this small way, we hope to help Ukraine face the challenges of the future.”
