Jayantha is a Lecturer at the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies and is engaged with a broad range of related areas of both academic and vocational development. In 2009, Jayantha joined CCES as a consultant and academic following a career of more than 30 years in the Sri Lanka Customs Service.
His areas of expertise include air and sea passenger processing, process mapping, cargo controls & examination, inter-agency cooperation at the border, border security, risk management and trade facilitation including preparation of assessments related to the implementation of the WTO’s Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).
Since joining CCES, Jayantha has undertaken many international Customs training programs for Customs administrations and consultations. He is the subject coordinator for the International Trade Terms and Documentation in Bachelor of Border Management program at Charles Sturt University.
Jayantha holds a Masters Degree in International Customs Law and Administration from the University of Canberra and has completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment at the Charles Sturt University, Australia.
