From 20 – 24 July 2015 CCES/CSU lecturers Athol Gardiner and Brian Hurrell delivered tutorial sessions in Windhoek, Namibia for Namibian Customs and Excise (NC&E) Officers enrolled in the Bachelor of Border Management, Graduate Certificate and Master of Customs Administration. The sessions were hosted by NC&E who also provided all facilities and administration. Tutorials were conducted for all NC&E students currently enrolled.
During the week, the Commissioner of NC&E (who is also a current student), Mr Bevan Simaata, presented Graduate Certificates in Customs Administration on behalf of CSU to the 19 Graduates who completed their course in 2014. CCES Lecturers were guests at the presentation.
The Government of Namibia through the Ministry of Finance has embarked on a major capacity building program for Customs and Excise Officers, and has selected the CSU undergraduate and post graduate courses delivered by CCES to cover the academic elements of the program. There are currently more than 70 NC&E Officers enrolled in CCES courses.
