Associate Professor Stephen Muller and Mr. Brian Hurrell conducted intensive teaching sessions for the MBA (Customs) course from 28 June to 06 July 2014 in Maputu, Mozambique. The MBA is jointly offered by CCES and the East and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI). This is the third group of students following the course.
18 Customs Officers from Mozambique Revenue Authority, two from Zimbabwe Revenue Authority and one private candidate from Cameroon attended sessions. The MBA curriculum covers general management subjects and four Customs specific subjects with a final thesis on a Customs-Border Management related topic. The four Customs subjects and the thesis were covered during the intensive sessions. Ms. Carolina Matavata, ESAMI coordinator in Mozambique assisted CCES in arranging the sessions.
During their visit to Maputo, the two lecturers had the opportunity to meet with the President of the Authority and senior staff at a special reception.
Sessions were conducted at the Training academy of the Revenue Authority in Motola.
