In 2012, at the request of the General Directorate of Qatar Customs, the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES) and the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) formed a partnership to develop and deliver an Associate of Applied Science degree in Customs Management.
The introduction of this specialized degree program is significant as it recognizes the crucial role played by Customs in the economic development of Qatar. The need to achieve and maintain high professional standards throughout the Customs Department is critical to the success of the State of Qatar’s rapid growth in the international marketplace. Qatar Customs not only ensures compliance with the country’s regulatory requirements but also plays an important part in the facilitation of trade and travel. This program will also be vital in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 by building the capacity of Qatar Customs in a way that will ensure the efficient and transparent delivery of public services and create a vibrant climate for overseas investment.
