MICLA Graduate awarded Prime Minister’s Australia-Pacific Award (PMPA)

Professor David Widdowson & Silivia Lewaravu

Ms. Silivia Lewaravu who completed the Masters in International Customs Law and Administration (MICLA) in Semester 1, 2012 has been awarded the Prime Minister’s Australia-Pacific Award (PMPA). This award allows recipients to undertake a work placement in any Australian government department or organization for a period of up to three months applying the skills derived from the postgraduate qualification. Silivia has commenced her work placement with the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies and will be conducting research in an area of interest to her administration as well as the Pacific.

Silivia works as a Senior Legal Advisor for the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FRCA), she arrived in Australia in 2011 on an Australian Development Scholarship to pursue her Masters as an onshore student.
