The Masters in Customs Administration (MCA) 2010 group completed their skills projects in August 2012. This is the final Customs related subject in the MCA program.
The skills projects are based on a performance related problem which the student group identifies, analyses and develop solutions for implementation. It is unique approach to work integrated learning at the postgraduate level.
There were 28 different projects covering areas such as improving passenger processing, improving container clearance at the port of Colombo, reducing the clearance time for live fish exports, implementation of the Basel Convention.
Each group had to make a 20 minute presentation regarding their project, its findings, issues identified, solutions developed, solutions implemented and a cost benefit analysis. The panel of examiners listened to the presentation from CCES office Canberra and assessed the presentations.
