CCES has been delivering the DHL International Customs Program since 2007. The program is designed to give DPDHL employees a broad understanding of international Customs issues and processes, and is comprised of theoretical, practical and technical components. Importantly, assessment is on a vocational not an academic basis. Unlike academic assessment, vocational assessment focuses on the competency to perform a task to a required standard. This includes the ability to plan and integrate a number of different tasks into achieving a work outcome; the ability to respond to unforeseen occurrences; and the ability to work with others from across the breadth of the DPDHL organisation.
Earlier this year some 150 DPDHL employees from 58 countries enrolled in the course. This group was split into five cohorts of 30 students with each DPDHL region and Business Unit represented. Students from Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 have now completed their studies; with students in Cohort 5 due to finish in mid-September 2015.
