Over the course of the past 12 months CCES has been engaged by the Laos People’s Democratic Republic (LPDR) Trade Facilitation Secretariat to design and deliver a Trade Facilitation and Regulatory Compliance Management Development Program. The Program involves a Training Needs Analysis, two Train the Trainer programs as well as a series of six workshops for senior and middle management. The program is funded through the World Bank.

In late June the first two workshops were held in Vientiane involving a total of 25 officials from the Departments of Customs, Health, Agriculture, IP Protection, Science and Technology, Domestic Trade, Foreign Trade, Import and Export, Transport and Communication.

Participants studied a number of modules addressing topics such as Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, ICT Management, Business Process Reengineering, Human Resource Management, Organisational Change, Project Management, Industry Consultation and Cooperation.

The next workshops are scheduled for mid-August 2015.
